I am sorry it has taken so long to give an update but a combination of jet lag and hitting the ground running with work, doctor’s appointment, etc I haven’t had a moment to sit and let my brain take it all in.
I thank you all for your many prayers and words of encouragement through this whirlwind of an adoption. The last trip in Latvia was very smooth and an enjoyable trip. Kostya and Jana enjoyed the week spending time walking around the city enjoying the -6 degree weather . Jana was able to see her foster mom’s daughter and her foster sister before we left as well as a chaperone friend we hosted at Christmas.
Jana commented that the doctors in Latvia weren’t very good because they didn’t even make her take her shoes off .
We arrived home to a very busy week filled with doctors appointments, tennis matches, soccer games, dance lessons, etc. Kostya has a fractured back and is in a brace for 6 weeks and Jana has an abnormal heart rhythm that we just have to monitor. Please continue to pray for their healing.
I stand in awe of the way God moves mountains when necessary. It has been only 9 months since we heard about Jana and know she is our daughter permanently. I pray that each one of you will be blessed for your part in bringing our daughter home and making sure there was one less orphan in this world. If you are interested in hosting a child of your own or you want to help others to be able to host and eventually adopt, please check out the new listing of children available to host this summer. A friend shared a devotion last Thursday which talked about luke warm Christians. Revelations 3:16 says ‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth” I don’t know about you but I don’t want God to spit me out! He also says he will stand at the door and knock waiting on us to act. I pray that each of you will be on fire for Christ and step out in radical faith to take care of orphans and widows in the year to come.
We look so forward to what God has in store for our family in the year to come. Please continue to pray for us and that God will use us in a mighty way to accomplish His purpose.
God bless, Paula
